Patriots Chandler Jones Hospitalized Over Synthetic Weed
NFL players are still looking for ways to get high during the football season. Defensive End for the New England Patriots, Chandler Jones, was hospitalized last weekend due to a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana. The NFL's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse limits which substances are allowed to be tested, which makes synthetic cannabis easily bypassed under the radar.
Jones' was said to have been lifting weights at the Patriot's facility the following morning after being admitted to the Norwood Hospital on Sunday. He walked to the nearby Foxborough police station for help during his bad reaction.
The NFL is aware of the situation and will review it. According to the policy program rule 1.4.1, Jones could get entered into Stage I of the NFL drug-testing program if he gets a citation for using synthetic marijuana. “Chandler’s got a lot of great support in this locker room,’’ said teammate and receiver Danny Amendola. “He’s a great football player and we’re excited to see what he does this week.’’
