Tyson Taking His Chances On Cannabis
In December, Mike Tyson added yet another career to his resume. The boxing champion turned actor is now turning into a cannabis connoisseur and will have his own California marijuana ranch. Tyson announced last month that he had purchased 40-acre plot of land in California City.
The massive amount of space will soon be home to what Tyson calls a one-stop cannabis shop as well as an amusement park! “[Tyson Ranch] will allow master growers to have maximum control of their environment,” said Robert Hickman, one of two of Tyson's business partners.
Tyson, Hickman and Jay Strommen have unofficially called the location "Tyson Ranch," although they unsure if the name will stay until the grand opening, which they are also unsure of. They operate under the company name Tyson Holistics and have trademarked “Iron Mike Genetics” for branding. Hickman claims that half of the land will be dedicated to the cultivation of high-quality cannabis strains.
Along with the massive grow and amusement park, the land will also house an amphitheater for live shows and presentations, a hydro-feed plant and supply store, a factory for edibles, a garden with a unique water feature, a cutting-edge extraction facility and a “Tyson Cultivation School” aimed to teach growers at the facility the latest techniques and tricks in marijuana cultivation.
Tyson also plans on having his facility employ men and women who have served our country. The ranch will be located near Edwards Air Force Base, which he feels should create a variety of jobs for veterans. Not only will his facility look to help put money in the pockets of veterans, he also plans on using his facility to improve the medical research and treatment of diseases.
