Alaskan TV Reporter: 'F*ck It, I Quit!'
After a report about the Alaskan Cannabis Club, news reporter Charlo Greene resigned on air, revealing that she, in fact, owns the club. On Sunday night, those who tuned into KTVA-TV’s 10:00 PM news broadcast were able to witness the shocking, yet hilarious resignation.
Greene admitted, "I will now be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska.” Supposedly, she is working towards passing Measure 2, which would set up a Colorado-style system of legal and taxed sales.
However, Mason Tvert, of the Marijuana Policy Project, told marijuana.com that Greene isn’t affiliated with the official campaign committee that’s seeking to pass the ballot measure. Greene launched a crowdfunding campaign in efforts to show her support for the bill, yet raising $5,000 for travel costs and informational materials is probably not enough to impact the campaign. The televised stunt is still gaining free media about medical marijuana, which may help when it comes to the polls.
