Arkansas Approves Issue 6

The medical marijuana amendment has passed in Arkansas, adding to the list of states throughout the country that are accepting cannabis use. Arkansas is considered the first state in the Bible Belt that legalized medical marijuana.

Patients will now be able to be granted permission by a physician to use marijuana medically and purchase their medicine from a licensed dispensary. However, unlike other states, patients will not  be allowed to grow their own plants.

Family Council President, Jerry Cox, stated, "This fight is not over. The battle now shifts to the Aransas Legislature." He feels the amendment is not safe for our children and only benefits the big businessmen that are already profiting from cannabis. "We plan to fight tooth and nail to protect Arkansans from the consequences of this amendment" he continued.
