Colombia Legalizes MMJ!

In attempts to prevent drug crop production, the president of Colombia has signed a monumental decree, legalizing medical cannabis. On Tuesday, Juan Manuel Santos signed to formally regulate the manufacturing, exporting, sales, medical and scientific use of marijuana.

Santos admitted to smoking cannabis in the 70's and feels that legalization would take the job of drug production from traffickers. Colombia now joins a list of other Latin American countries that have legalized or decriminalized cannabis, along with Uruguay who legalized back in 2013.

Colombians who wish to grow marijuana must now apply to the National Narcotics Council for a growers license. Medical cannabis is to be used for medical conditions such as seizures, HIV, Crohn's disease or nausea.
