D.C. Cannabis Coalition To Hand Out Joints At Inauguration

The D.C. Cannabis Coalition is all for getting medicated on the day that Donald Trump becomes President of the United States.  The pro-cannabis group will gather on January 20 at 10:00 AM in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of D.C. and parade to the National Mall, handing out 4,200 joints - for FREE.

Adam Eidinger, the founder of the D.C. Cannabis Coalition (a.k.a DCMJ), is leading the parade which will ultimately lead to a protest at the National Mall.  At 4:20 PM, marchers are encouraged to spark their joints during Trump's inaugural speech.  "If someone wants to do it, they are risking arrest," he told USA Today, "but it's a protest and you know what, the National Mall is a place for protest."

Cannabis has been legalized recreationally in D.C. as of March 2015, making it legal to possess two ounces or less of marijuana to grow or give away.  Therefore, DCMJ giving out joints is not illegal.  However, smoking in public is not at all permitted.  DCMJ claims that the purpose of the protest is to advocate legalizing cannabis at a federal level although they do fear that the Trump administration will heavily enforce marijuana laws.
