DEA Chief Says Marijuana Is Not Medicinal

Chuck Rosenberg, acting DEA administrator, made news headlines in August for stating that cannabis is less harmful than heroin.  So we are all shocked to hear him say in a new interview with FOX News that cannabis should not be reclassified under federal law. The DEA chief feels this way even though “it certainly is not as dangerous as other Schedule I controlled substances.”

Rosenberg tries to give off the image of a saint by never having tried marijuana, not drinking alcohol and feeling as if his only vice is drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.  He feels as if if marijuana was medicinal, there may be an exception for removing marijuana from the Schedule I class.  "If we come up with a medical use for it, that would be wonderful. But we haven’t.”  Though he is in support of marijuana research, he feels no sufficient evidence has been presented.

Ultimately, Rosenberg said, “I’m not willing to say that it’s good for you, or that it ought to be legalized. I think it’s bad for you and that it ought to remain illegal.”
