Delaware Allows MMJ On School Grounds
A new legislation has been signed by Gov. Jack Markell allowing medical marijuana patients to access and use cannabis on school grounds. Caregivers will now be allowed to administer oils to approved patients on buses, in primary, secondary and preschools.
Senate Bill 181 comes shortly after Colorado Gov. Jack Hickenlooper passed "Jack's Law," which prevents schools from punishing students or confiscating marijuana products from medical marijuana approved minors. The new Delaware bill will not allow school nurses or any other faculty to give a child their cannabis oil.
Delaware also passed House Bill 400, allowing those suffering from terminal illnesses or specific symptoms related to such illnesses eligible for cannabis therapy.
