Eldery Man Sentenced To 6 Months For Growing Pot

A British Colombia grandfather has been sentenced to six months in jail after authorities discovered a grow operation on his property nearly two years ago.  Officers were notified of a pungent smell coming from one of Donald Clarkson's, 76, rental properties the North Thompson Valley and found 150 small cannabis plants.

Clarkson pleaded guilty in a B.C. Supreme Court judge in Kamloops to production of marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking.  His excuse for the operation was that his pension was not large enough and his only intention was for financial gain.  The plants valued at $60,000.
