End Federal MMJ Prohibition!

Today, Senators from Kentucky, New Jersey and New York are hosting a press conference to discuss ending the federal prohibition of medical marijuana!  This is exciting news for the cannabis community as we still fear the possibility of getting federally prosecuted for a plant that legalized in certain states.

Michael Collins, policy manager for the Drug Policy Alliance stated, “Almost half the states have legalized marijuana for medical use; it’s long past time to end the federal ban.”  With 23 states already recognizing medical marijuana as a legal drug when prescribed by a physician and 12 more states looking to sign bills regarding the legality of cannabis, the press conference will explain the details that will allow  patients, doctors and businesses to abide by their state approved medical marijuana laws.

Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ), Rand Paul (R-KY) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) will be hosting the press conference in Washington, D.C at 12:30 PM EST.  Can't make it to D.C for the press conference?  The Drug Policy invites reporters from state and local media officials and journalists to join their teleconference at 3:00 PM EST.  Speak with  policy experts, patients, and advocates about the announcement of new, innovative medical marijuana bill.
