Four Arrested In Marijuana Bust

Durham police officers reported to a home on the 3400 block of Misty Pine Avenue for a drug bust. High Enforcement Abatement Team (HEAT) claimed to have smelt a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home when the door was opened and then returned to the home with a search warrant. 


When officers returned to the home,   resident Khadir Cherry attempted to grab an officer’s service weapon and refused to obey orders.  Also, resident Raynell Hall struck an officer in the shoulder during the incident.  Cherry was struck with a baton and Hall was tased.

Cherry was charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute, maintaining a dwelling for the sale or manufacturing of a substance, two counts of assault on a government official, resisting a public officer and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.  Hall was charged with assault on a government official and resisting a public officer.

Vera McGriff, the homeowner, was charged with maintaining a dwelling for the sale or manufacturing of drugs and resisting a public officer along with Jahmon charged who was with assault on a government official.
