Man Arrested For Shipping Pounds Of Flowers
Law enforcement agents intercepted a package of eight pounds of cannabis flowers. Dejarik Macon, 33, of Tacoma, Washington has been charged with marijuana trafficking.
The package was delivered and then a search warrant was issued. The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, U.S. Postal Service and the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case. Agents sent the mail, which they believed to contain "a large amount of narcotics," to a Maple Street home in Gadsden. The package contained 8.5 pounds of high grade marijuana, equaling a street value of $24,000.
Macon was arrested and sent to the Etowah County Detention Center. He was released on a $40,000 bond.
