Michigan Will Introduce Legalization Bill
Residents of Michigan supported and vouched for the many benefits of marijuana at the 44th Annual Hash Bash in Ann Arbor Saturday. Many cannabis activists were in attendance, including Tommy Chong, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and State Representative Jeff Irwin to share their personal experiences with and feelings about marijuana and why it should become legal.
At the University of Michigan's Diag, herbalists listened to stories about how cannabis has effected the lives of so many Michigan residents. Jim Powers shared how cannabis oil helped heal his 6-year-old son, Ryan, who has an autoimmune disease. Alyssa Erwin, 18, admitted to cannabis oil being her choice curing her cancer not once, but twice! After chemotherapy made her sick, cannabis oil did the trick. "(It) saved my life," she said. "I told my parents: no more chemo."
Veteran Dakota Serna admitted that marijuana has helped his post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With a variety of stories being told at the iconic Hash Bash, Tommy Chong won the crowd over as a favorite speaker. He said, "I really have one message for the government of the United States: decriminalize it. Today is a celebration of the greatest plant known to me. I'm going to smoke one right now."
