Montana Expands Medical Marijuana Laws
Issue 182 saw big returns last night as residents of Montana voted yes on the amendment. The state, which legalized medical cannabis in 2011, will expand the provisions of the measure.
Issue 182 (I-182) allows cannabis providers to have an unlimited amount of patients they provide for, while before, they were only allowed three. Prior to I-182, many patients were left without a medical provider, causing them to leave the program.
The measure also adds post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD ) to the list of qualifying conditions for cannabjs treatment. Lab testing is also permitted and providers will undergo an annual health department inspection.
Montana is one of nine states that had a marijuana initiative on the 2016 ballot.
