The infamous "Pot Playboy," Jimmy Cournoyer was known as the bud kingpin, sending marijuana from New York to Montreal.  In a Brooklyn federal court, the cannabis connoisseur who set up his empire in New York was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison.

Cournoyer allegedly led a $1 billion international drug trafficking enterprise which involved organized crime and drug operations.  He had a $2 million hit organized for anyone who cooperated with the government.  Cournoyer was arrested in 2012, attempting to enter Mexico and authorities assumed he was involved in drug activity.  He was transferred to New York where prosecutors decided that he sold marijuana that was smuggled in from Canada.
