Texas Can Make $166 Mil. Taxing Marijuana
A personal finance website called Nerdwallet says Texas could make more than $166 million in taxes if they were to legalize recreational marijuana. While the number may seem outstanding, it is relatively smaller than alcohol taxes. In 2013, alcohol taxes brought in close to $1 billion.
Colorado is expected to collect anywhere from $60-70 million dollars for taxing marijuana. With the potential to make so much money, other states like Alaska, Florida, Oregon and Waghington, D. C. are voting on the issue as well. There's still hope for Texas!
