Unlicensed CBD Dispensary Opens In Boston
Medical marijuana advocate Bill Downing owns CBD Please, a dispensary that distributes products containing cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive, anti-inflammatory cannabinoid. CBD Please is in the Allston area of Boston, Massachusetts and is not approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to sell these products, but he justifies it by saying that medical marijuana has been legal for two years in the state.
hen asked if the process of making the products he sells, he told CBS Local, "‘I don’t know. And I don’t care.’” He is not licensed to sell medical marijuana, but he argues that cannabidiol (CBD) is the medically active ingredient in hemp and it is not an intoxicant.
The Department of Public Health has previously forced Downing to shut down a another store he owned. The Boston Police Department told WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones that it is “looking into the legality” of the defiant store owners newest business. Downing claims that the products he sells come from the oils of the hemp plant imported from Europe and then refined in the United States. His products contain no THC, according to him.
