Woman Smuggles Weed Into Jail In Bible

A South Carolina woman is now facing charges for allegedly trying to smuggle joints into the Union County Jail.  Just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Monkia Ryans, 24, of Jonesville was caught sneaking cannabis into the facility inside of a bible.

Deputies were called to the Union County Jail on Friday afternoon.  Capt. Robbie Hines said the binding in the Bible didn't look or feel right.  When a deputy and supervisor opened the Bible,  the bottom of the binding contained loose tobacco and a white piece of paper with three smoked marijuana cigarettes inside.

Ryans was found in the parking lot of the jail facility and charged with furnishing prisoners with alcohol or drugs.
