Coincidentally, the doctor was looking for a place to run a clinic out in Los Angeles. So, Dina quit pursuing fashion and dove into the marijuana industry with absolutely no money. Her first consulting office was run out of the lobby of the Raddisson hotel on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. She saw near 60-80 patients up to 3 days a week, making sure that each patient left with a clearer understanding of cannabis and dosage. She kept in touch with Snoop Dogg and when she realized that he was getting in trouble with the law and had an open case involving cannabis, she reached out to him to tell him that he didn't need to deal with that. She recommended that he get a medical marijuana card, but he didn't believe her. Snoop challenged Dina to come to his studio with her doctor to prove it; so she did! The first and every time that Snoop Dogg has seen a medical marijuana physician was with Dina. Therefore, he gave her the name Dr. Dina.
An admirable ganjapreneur, Dr. Dina has worked with various doctors and patients. She is now consulting at the oldest collective, Alternative Herbal Health Services in West Hollywood, California. She finds great importance in educating and explaining cannabis dosage to her patients, understanding that those who have never smoked or dealt with cannabis need to build their tolerance. She has plenty of tips and tricks up her sleeve to help with consuming all forms of cannabis to make the medicine work for you and ultimately enjoy it.
The Higher Content especially admires Dr. Dina for her positive attitude towards giving back to the cannabis community in any way that she can. "My friend said it best, he said 'We're all just spokes on a wheel' and I really believe that," she said. "I don’t think I’m better than anyone else in the industry. I think we’re all apart of a team and we all need to work together." She knows that to spread awareness and legalization throughout the country, legalized states must give back to those who have yet to do so in order to get them up to date. Lending a helping hand to organizations in attempts to legalize marijuana will only benefit the community we are apart of.
Dr. Dina has been published in many popular magazines such as Rolling Stone and Marijuana however, The Higher Content discovered her through the Vice documentary, The Real Nancy Botwin. In it, Dr. Dina was portrayed as an educated female in the cannabis industry who didn't take any shit. Whether approached by the feds, the Mexican cartel or the average cannabis consumer, Dr. Dina exudes education in a smart, witty way, giving off the vibe that she's not one to be messed with. "By coming out, I feel like I probably should’ve come out sooner." she said. "It wasn’t my lifestyle, but I truly believe that you end in life where you think you belong and I’ve always been taught to think that you belong somewhere great."
Keep an eye out for Dr. Dina. She has a major impact on the cannabis community and has a new found passion for positively benefiting the marijuana industry which has tremendous potential for growth and sustainability. Follow her on Instagram, @DrDina420 and check out her website, www.drdina420.com.
